Prologue:
It's been decades since I painted anything. It took the pandemic for me to finally pick up that brush again and paint away. I thought it would interesting for me to share some thoughts and stories behind these paintings, drawings & illustrations. Hopefully put things into perspective.

We shall see....

"Moments" during film set.

I love being on film sets. It's great to see young filmmakers in their element, working together to tell their stories through filmmaking craft. I work closely with students creatively, especially during the ideation and scriptwriting process. Most of the time they figured out on their own the kind of stories they want to make. And when the time comes to shoot the script, I try my best to be on set. When I do, I always try to take pictures of "moments" during production with my smartphone.
If I'm lucky, I'll take good pictures.
If I'm really lucky, those pictures tell a more compelling stories.

Check out my instagram pics.

Picture
Originally this picture was taken during rehearsal between the two actors. At the time while the crew were outside  the window setting up the camera and lights, I was just sitting across the room browsing through my instagram. But when I looked up I saw these two figure sitting in silence. It felt intimate , serene yet sad. For some reason that moment takes me back to the times when I've had intimate "conversation" with another person. Conversation with my late grandfather, conversation with my father, with my mom. Intimate moments with past relationships. Some serious, some sad, but mostly memorable moments that you cherish during solitude. We all have this moments in our lives. That's why I was moved the paint this moment. The composition feels right, the lighting captures the mood and the figure sat there perfectly for me to capture.
