I tell stories through drawings. At least that's how i started, and i was pretty good at it. But i wasn't satisfied. My instinct tells me i needed something new. So during my final year as a fine art student, i decided to try something totally different from what usually i do. I decided to intern at a post production house in K.L. There i was introduced to editing for TV commercial.
The experience blew me away. It opened up my eyes to different tools of storytelling. Slowly i began to explore filmmaking. I did that by tagging along during commercial shoots, assisted colleagues in their short film productions, spoke to producers and directors such as Yasmin Ahmad, Ho Yu Hang, U-wei and Tengku Mona about their craft. After gaining new experiences during internship , my work slowly evolved towards film and multimedia. I combine both fine art and digital media.
Upon graduation I jumped into advertising industry. Along the way picked up new skills including animation, sound design, compositing & graphic design. After years working in the industry, i decided to take a break and pursue my masters degree. I wanted to incorporate what I learn from my work and combine them with fine arts and filmmaking. That decision led me to U.S where I was accepted to pursue my MFA at George Mason University, Virginia. There I studied New Media.
A new world yet again. My storytelling journey continues till today....
